Neck

Discomfort in the neck is a common complaint. 'A pain in the neck' or a 'stiff neck' are expressions we hear often. Our neck muscles are always working and are under a lot of stress during the course of our day. Depending on the type of activities that are required of us we can experience anything from very mild discomfort and stiffness to pain accompanied by limited movement in one or all directions.

Massage can help to ease the tension and stress, improve flexibility in healthy muscles and reduce or manage pain.

Back and Shoulders

Our back and shoulders can always benefit from massage. Whether we are required to sit for extended periods or are doing more physical work, bending, twisting and lifting, there is a lot of stress put on the back and shoulder muscles.

Exercise, accompanied with stretching and good posture and ergonomics is important to healthy well functioning back and shoulder muscles. Regular massage will help to maintain this health.

Massage is recommended for musculoskeletal and overuse injuries to the back and shoulders.

Arms and hands

Overuse of the arms and hands can lead to more serious conditions such as tendonitis or carpal tunnel syndrome. Massage therapist are trained to work with these and other similar conditions. Should you find you are experiencing any kind of pain, weakness tingling or numbing in your hands or wrist talk to your therapist. Having your arms and hands massaged is very relaxing, often people are surprised with how much tension is in these areas and are amazed with how much better they feel after.

Legs and Feet

Massage has proven to have an effect on local blood flow therefore helping to increase circulation. Edema and poor circulation can be experienced for many reasons and in any area of the body but is particularly common in the legs and feet.

Athletes often suffer injuries to the legs or feet, and people who have to be on their feet all day can develop painful conditions such as plantar fasciitis. Massage proves to be especially effective when working with these types of injuries.
